vanguards scare me...then again any large vehicle which comes flying over the lip of a hill you were about to run down would scare me :P

All the assault tanks have the same armour AFAIK, but the Prowler is a bigger target and the Mag is slower so the VG seems most difficult to destroy. In a tank Vs Tank battle the Mag has the advantage due to its direct gun which has more chance of hitting if both tanks are moving. But get a reall good gunner and that 150mm will take out the MAG in about 3-4 shots. Prowlers are even easier, almost made for the VG, big target, no strafe, less firepower.

I have all three tanks on various servers but the fact the Van is so good is why my main character is NC. Yes, Magmowing through bases gets you more XP, but its not going to survive like a Van in open terrain because its so slow the AV guys can take it out before it has chance to retreat.

Cant see mich to recomend the prowler, MG is usually not manned as finding two gunners isnt easy, and when it is its not hugely effective. Then again why do the TR want the best vehicles? They have Strikers for enemy vehicles after all...

i played on tr for a little bit and believe me strikers are not that good against any type of tank.... well unless they are already damaged or you got more that 3 packs of ammo which pretty much no one does

3 packs of ammo is a start. 9 Strikers won't even make a tank turn and run sometimes, that's why I have a loadout with 15 strikers and a paltry few boxes of cycler ammo. The Striker is nice when you see them flying from multiple directions, if you're the unlucky guy who seems to be the only one shooting them you may as well resign yourself to not taking out your target if it's a large tank. I've unloaded a dozen into a Vanguard before it got out of view without taking it out.

Anyways umm yeah so the Vanguard is not the worst tank by a long shot. Then again, assuming they have good crews, none of the tanks suck. Personally I do wish I could get my hands on Prowler's or Magriders more often, but really that's just because they're a joy to drive sometimes as something different

Vanguards are great tanks...a good armor column of Vanguards is a great help on the battlefield. The power of the 150mm is undeniable, and although I wish for a flatter trajectory, a little practice is all that's needed to hit both infantry and armor. I've driven a Magrider on another server, and it is also great fun (strafing, a gun for the driver); it's no wonder the VS tank is so widely used. My former character drove a TR Prowler, and I thought it was effective - if you had two good gunners.

A little story: My outfit's armor squad was operating on Forseral, in the Ogma area. We were watching the TR Sanctuary warpgate for trouble, and trouble came, in the form of 6 Prowlers. I think we lost two out of our three tanks, with the third retreating. We did do some significant damage to them, but they really opened up on us. Prowlers can be fearsome too.

Yeah, the prowler is good, not much in it, but its definitely the last of the three i would choose to drive.

Too the original posters credit however the Vanguard drives like a piece of shit. Any tankers from the other empires that halfway knows what they are doing eat Vanguards for breakfast, especially the Prowler. Fighting Vanguards is all about using the terrain to your advantage. If you cant find a terain advantage, Run and then flank him about a minute later

No, the Vanguard does handle pretty badly compared to the other two tanks. Vanguards have a higher turn radius at moderate to high speeds than a Prowler. Vanguard does have better acceleration than the Prowler though, or at least that's what it seemed like last time I was in a Prowler. The Magrider handles like crap at first, but once you get used to it I think it by far has the best handling.

The vanguard's handleing is so shitty, its only usefull on flat terrain. The Prowler however is ausome on hills. Learn it, use it.

the vangaurd is awesome i think the mag is highly underrated because with a good gunner u can own sooooo much with a mag cept with a semi decent van gunner its toast and the prowler doesnt really scare me because 99% of the time i fight it there are 1 or even no gunners and then it = phoenix and Falcon max Fodder

the vangaurd is a great tank my only problem is that the main gun has 2 long of a wait between shots.
