With no sky, you will prolly get BETTER fps then above ground.

/edit/ Also, from these pics it looks as if the "zerg" aspects of things will be cut down, due to the ziplines and multiple paths. Looks like the shortest path isnt a straight line.

That is very possible Gohan, it depends on how effiecient the engine is and if it renders stuff you cannot see. The old EQ engine is very bad about this-- it renders things behind walls and hills and such and thats why it is so clunky. If it only renders what you see if may be ok.

Oh and turning off the sky graphics helped my FPS by leaps & bounds.

Sorry but CC looks like total crap.
Nice constructive criticism you've got there.
I wish devs spend more time doing some constructive work on PS like bunkers, reducing lag, giving some purpose to win-loss so that we can keep ppl playing PS.
Seperate issue from core combat being crappy or not.

And again this is not urban fighting at all
No, it's not urban fighting, it's close quaters fighting. If you want urban fighting may I suggest you go play couterstrike?

P.S. sorry my dear friends but I had to say all this.
No, you didn't. You could have started your own thread to rant about the priorities of the game instead of ranting in a thread created to show new screenshots of an expansion that many, obviously excluding you, are indeed looking forward to.

IIRC the "floating triangular bitty" (shall we make that the technical term? ) is the deployable part of the Router - it's the point to which you will teleport. That will be so damn uber in above-ground combat it won't even be funny.

@Jarlo: Unfortunately the PS engine is kinda bad about unseen poly elimination too... that's one reason FPS can get so bad in large battles.

In alot of the dev interviews and other literature around CC they said core combat was going to be all about Urban warfare, I presume this is what vipjerry
was talking about. I'm not sure how hes coming to the conclusion he is though, from a handfull of screenshots. I'm also not going to argue about it because I have no Idea what fighting in core combat is going to be like. I think it looks good though, and I look foreward to finding out.

Two problems, "urban warfare" is being taken too literal by players, and two, the devs might not have made the best choice of words to describe close combat style fights as is usually used in other games.

Very true, at least in a way. It's still not very relavent to a discussion of screen shots however. I do wish the devs had reffered to it as "close quarters combat". I know there are going to be legions of idiots who infest the official forums pissed that they don't get to play in maps taken directly out of New York complete with shops to bust up and street winos to take pot shots at >_<

Thats a good point. If i remember correctly the devs refeerd to the current fighting inside facilities as "close quarters combat" I was am still am confused about what them ment by "urban warfare" What im guessing is that there will be areas of lots of smaller structures, like groupings of houses. Some CS levels (since someone else was using the CS example) fit this mode but most do not.

BF 1942 has better examples of urban warfare, and theres at least level in Savage:TBN that does too.

Nice looking cc shot. Will be a nice change of scenary from the standard base interiors we see today. I'm only fearing the amount of HA users (practically everyone) that's gonna hound this MA fighter. Tight hallways with lashes around my throat, ouch.

Ok, triangular bity is the telepad. Fair enough... second router question... on the Core Combat page, what is the picture on the right showing? All of a sudden, the router looks like it's split level and beefy.
