look at the waters gheyness though, but why didn't they keep those huge alien bases, would've added a shitload more content and storyline, I mean, how do we even konw the vanu existed, they have NOTHING on the planet, and there are no research sites or anything... makes ya wonder...

That picture isn't exactly that impressive anyway, Hamma. Take your average screenshot of PS, edit it a tiny bit in a graphic editing program and you have a pretty damn similar kinda of thing. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what the devs did anyway.

Haha! You do notice some very important details.
As for the trees, and other such details, those should really depend on the computer. I doubt their servers would have any difficulty handling any kind of trees since all they have to know is where the trees are.. how they look is totally dependent on whats on our computer (although this is CRC checked). As long as we have plenty of RAM, the amount of polygons on those trees shouldn't matter. I know as a past developer with engines similar to this that it's possible to create *extremely* detailed trees en masse without affecting fps much at all. I'd rather they left in the high detail and let me choose to have it or not rather than just toning it down for everybody - this is just another of my many gripes with the game. But saying that, I do still play and for some part enjoy the game so I won't bore you all with a rant. |
