There are currently two expansions for DAOC/ one is Shouded Isles wich is in the gold edition, geared at played level 35+. But its very easy to get a new char there to 10 in about an hour or so.

The second is Trials of Atlantis (TOA) A very very high level expansion, 45+ (Note the level cap is 50) And has fantasic drops and dungions.

Just buy the gold edition, its a waste of money to buy TOA if you only plan on playing it till WoW.

I installed the game on my computer and was about to activate my acount again, hoping my level 42 scout would still be there and then I did some research and I heard that the game has turned into everquest where everyone is obsessed about items!

Thats true, since TOA hit most of the DAOC playerbase has been bitching about it being turned into EQ. TOA now makes you PvE and get the most uber items/artifacts to be effeictive in RvR. Peronsaly It hasent affected me much, I WANT to be competitive in RvR so I dont mind farming for items.

it's sort of inevitible, i'm surprised people are this shocked about it. DAoC HAD to become PvE centered if it wanted to hold a respectable playerbase. pvp is fun, but only for a while. (check out mordred/andred if you need further proof.)

Actually, he cancelled his account because he took on a job this year as well as 16 units of school each quarter, and--oh yeah, let's not forget--a girlfriend
