Well, the issue with that is that the damage from ballistics and explosives, to the gunner, would have to be area specific. The way the radiator treats a vehicle atthe moment is like a grenade - Area of Effect. I doubt ti would be too much a hassle to put in area-specific damage on a gunner.

I think it might be trickier than it seems. PS seems to associate people with the vehicle in order to move them around, and since there is no hit detection, it would be difficult to make the part of the vehicle that constitutes the person take damage instead of the vehicle.
Maybe they could do it, but I don't think they will.

I would rather see them allow the driver of the empire specific buggy be capable of firing the main weapon in a locked position if they don't have a gunner. I have a gun on the roof damn it, just cause by gunner bailed out doesn't mean I couldn't reach over and at least hit the trigger :P
