That isn't an option, we could only get the cable modem to work on the first floor.

Besides, I don't think that is the problem, cause I always get a good signal, the router just stops talking to my computer after a couple of minutes or somehting. Really weird.

Hit it a few times... and if that doesn't work get a new one. You can always use the old for target practice or something. Maybe test your WMD?

I have already changed out both the router and my wifi access point several times with the same result...

Me not happy...

what wavelength is your router on, and are there any portable phones on the same floor around it? i belive one standerd is 900mhz. the other i dont remember.

We have a portable phone, but if that where the problem everyone in the house would be having this problem, instead of just me.

ok, my last suggestion, is to get stronger anteni, mabey a directional antena, from your comp aimed at the router, but thats over kill. im pretty sure radio shack has them, or try compusa, their floor people will know what the fuck theyre talking about, bestbuy people wont.

WOO HOO! I found the source of my problems. My bios had some sort of weird power saver feature that turned off my PCI cards (stupid motherboard). Problem fixed, allnight gaming session relocated to tonight, see you on the battlefeild.
