Hitler made the same mistake that Napoleon did when he tried to attack Russia and went way too far into Russia and his supply lines were cut short and the Russian soldiers just destroyed everything as they retreated and Hitlar still chased them.

It has to be Germany attacking Russia. They just got their asses beat, and it was way more costly to Germany in the end. But it was a good mistake since nazi germany was destroyed and now there isnt mass murdering of ****. It has to be the biggest tactical mistake there is. And it wasn't the first time. Napoleon attacked russia in winter and got his ass kicked as well.

The policy of appeasement. They should've kicked Hitler's ass straight after he violated the Treaty of Versailles. They gave him more and more rope and didn't do anything till the Nazi-Soviet non-aggression pact and the invasion of Poland, then Britain and France declare war on Germany. The whole thing could've been avoided if Chamberlain, and later Churchill, had've done the right thing and curbed Nazi aggression immediately.

I think one of Hitlers biggest mistakes was restricting the use of Germany's panzer tank divisions to his order. This was bad, because when the allies invaded Normandy, Hitler was asleep, which meant that the panzer tanks didn't get to the beaches while the allies were invading. Also Hitler should have listened to Erwin Rommell when Erwin told Hitler to stop the war and make peace with the United States and Great Britain, and keep what the Germans had already. Instead Hitler decided he wanted the whole world, and kept the war up.

Here is my opinion, the biggest mistake of WW2 is when it started, a tie between:
