The guy that puts his helmet on at the start is an ODST. Hell, go to HBO, there was news of who they were when it the demo came out.

Ok heres the deal - Sgt. Johnson is coming down from Earth with them from the long journey from halo on the way from halo they stopped at reach, found some spartans and were going back to earth- if you want me to explain how Sgt Johnson survived the explosion and flood I will.

As badass as 4 player co-op would be, I think it would really ruin the fun of playing with your best friend. 3 other friends could get quite difficult to control.

Anyways, if it's the video I think it is... Their armor is not the same as Master Chiefs, just different infantry armor.

i think they do, because I don't think an ordinary human could wear that armor, the SPARTANs have bones made of steel and theyre genetically enhanced

How do you know those are spartans, it's not like they HAVE to be spartans to wear the armor.

Yes they do, in the first book they show the Spartans a video of a marine testing one, he died quite painfully.
