I've been following this game for a while now! OMGOMGOMG! My bro is going to have a fucking shit fit... and I might be out of PlanetSide for a few days until I've played that demo like 5x over!!!!

Thanks a fucking TON for the heads-up UD, I've been waiting for this demo!
(Actually, I usually check up on this game daily to see if theres any new news... didn't today because of a school project I'm working on.)

Shit I need to hurry up and get this final paper done so I can play this shit... I hope it doesn't end up cutting into my study time for the final exam on Wed...

anyhow thanks again UD WOOT!

It really does not stack to GC at all. THe camera blows compaired to it. The controls are Iffy. Its so easy to just call in new units now. All you have to do is make a nice defence and then wait long enough for a huge amount of cash to buy a insane offence. My fav tactic was artillary slowly pushing forward. Pinning a huge enemy army in a box canyon and then wallking the artllary right up to them was great. Not destroying them at taht time was even better, getting 3 times the artillary to finish them off was the best. A fun game untill you get good at it.

hmm. any more interesting at higher difficulty levels? Ah, actually nvm, i'll check it out for myself tomorrow... hopefully it won't be too dissapointing... i really need to get back to work on this final project (pullin an all-nighter)

edit- camera really isnt a problem for me in 3d games, I've got one of those Microsoft Strategic commander things... makes camera movement pretty easy... wonder if they have a GC2 profile for it yet...

Don't think I can say it any better. The game lost all of it's... majesty. You don't feel connected to your units anymore, unlike the first one where your squads were persistant and personalized. It's like a crappy 3d RTS with a dropship instead of buildings. I don't even like the graphics as much.

Well, I played a little bit of the demo, and I've found it quite enjoyable. For one thing, the graphics are excellent. Beautiful all around, with excellent models. The problem comes with the camera: controls are horribly unintiutive. I push the mouse wheel forward, and it zooms out. Pull the whell back, it zooms in. Wtf? Then I struggle to figure out how to rotate the darn camera (hold down CTRL), and finally I have to get used to having to work with the rotation/zooming/shifting all in conjunction. Granted, once you fiddle with the controls and adapt to camera's dynamics, the camera works decently. However, I found it rather frustrating at first.

Gameplay was challenging, but that's probably because I'm just learning. It's weird because some of the units, particularly infantry, are much more durable than in other RTS games.

I never played the original GC, so I can't say how it compares.

Yes, the game features a very Mossy-like airplane. Strange, but if you think about it, it and the Mossy share the same basic idea as the Orca from Command and Conquer.

Bio - screenies are working for everyone else, so I don't know what to say.

Tutorial + level 1 of the NSA campaign. All we have in the MP Beta is the Tutorial.

dunno. I thought the demo was pretty fantabulous. Then again I feel compelled to do myself a favor and get the first game.
