Actually, the reason Canada is on July 1st is because it upstages Independance day by 3 days, and because march 29th (day Canada was given sovereignty) was had piss poor weather in Ontario.

I love Canada, love being Canadian and would not have it any other way!!!!!!! Canada also had its federal election on the28th, and voted in the miserable well kiss your ass Ontario and Quebec Liberals again. And did you know, voter turnout was the lowest in history at approx. 60.4% of all eleigble voters. Remember peeps your vote does! count. It as 60.8%, and as low as it was it is probably better than slapping you a fine for not voting. We wouldn't want 40% of the people just flipping a coin to help them randomly decide.

Allot of people dont vote (US and CAN) because they dont really feel like it makes a difference. The parties are in control, not the people
