No, there's a steady steam of people who join and don't get banned/leave in disgrace, and they way they avoid it is (read carefully) They don't flame until they have enough good karma! Chewy, for example, could probably get away with a flame or two by now, SDM many more.

Furthermore, making a thread to see if you get jumped always gets you jumped. It's like going up to a guy in a bar and saying "Hit me, I know your kind! You always do this!" Then he does it and you say "Ha! Told ya!"
