If you did it was because i was uncloacked and watching the metoer shower. Tons of people were killing me and i just ignored them and kept spawning at the tower and watching the show.

Battle Islands are totally stupid right now. There is no point in fighting on them, because lattice benefits do not transfer between the islands. So if you own one of the Desolation tech plants, you don't get the tech plant benefits on the other three islands. This has a serious effect on the combat. I've noticed that, on Markov at least, the footzerg is fucking insane on the BIs. You have countless grunts and snipers occupying most of the combat, because there is little to no armor being rolled directly from bases. The only way to get a tank on Extinction, for example, is to either roll it from Desolation, assuming you own a plant there, or roll it all the way form sanctuary. This just takes too long, and you can't get concentrated armor support from multiple people.

This issue is being looked at and fixes are being worked on, from what I've heard. But, because of this, the BIs are just no fun for me right now. Sniper and mosq swarm=teh suq.

Even on top of this, I still kind of prefer the original conts. I HATE the flat deserts of Desolation; Extinction is plain hell for grunts, because everything revolves around narrow bridges where flails and reavers dominate; Ascension battles are ALWAYS deadlocked on that big hill in the middle. And there are loads of total idiot sniper on every island. The kind of mass produced noob snipers who couldn't hit a target if their life depended on it, but manage to get kills because 30984 of them hole up in a nest together. I do like Nexus, though, but I've always liked the snowy climates more than anything else.

I for one love the Battle Islands because it is something new and fresh. Also, I am a sniper and also currently running a cloaker/CE loadout, so I'm loving it. But I'm not one of the "noob snipers" as Mandalore put it, and neither are my outfit mates. I guarantee you'll never see us in a cluster of more than 4. There's nothing that we hate more than a Reaver rocket-spamming us, so we try to avoid that. And we do that by not being in the same spot as the other thousand snipers.

Umm.... correct me if i am wrong, but wasn't the point of the BI's to be more Infantry friendly? Didn't they make them the way they are so we could HAVE those massive infantry battles with out being interupted by vehicles? Didn't the vehicles get their OWN island within which to do battle?

Sorry Mandelore, but if you don't like them for those reasons, then you don't like them for the reasons they were created, and should probably just stick with the main continents except for those times when you want to accept that that is what those Islands were made for.

The only problem I have with Battle Islands, is they are zerged over by one of the empires, so they are not available when I am on. So, I don't get to spend a lot of time fighting on them. If the point of the battle islands was for smaller scale play, then they should have made the bases non-capturable and put in other targets as a goal.

yeah the BI's piont was to be an Infantry battle ground for the most part, it's great fun withought all the vechs interfearing

I love the Battle Islands Because (Some points repeated):

- They're compact, which means less downtime for me.
- They're tactically designed. (Dunes on Desolation, Switchbacks on Ascension, Bridge vs Tower placement for Extinction. Topography relative to the base for Nexus.)
- MA is viable again, particularly after the MA buff.
- Different "flavor" for each island. Desolation, tank battles. Duh. Ascension has a "sieze the hill" infantry theme. Extinction is all about light vehicles (anything smaller then a MBT, unless you're Vanu.). Nexus is Infantry and air.

I personally don't think that benefits should be shared across a cluster. It sacrifices each individual island's "personality". I do think you should have to own every base in the cluster to lock it to pods, however. I also think that a cavern lock should run cross-cluster, though.

I say bring on the next cluster. A cluster with a capitol (and distributed sub-caps) would be nice.

Well, I haven't had a chance to play the Battle Islands yet (twas on a cruise till earlier today), but they look cool.

And, if they make another cluster, which cont are they gonna nuke?

why not just ADD a contient? the contients are on world, so what's on the other side? maybe another cluster?

(Captitols Cluster: four islands. three w/ sub caps and maybe another base or two. and the last one w/ JUST a capitol. You'd have to get two of the three sub caps for the wgs to the cap island to unlock, and all three for the shield to drop. wadda ya think?)

Don't care what they do, but make them so there is at least one uncapturable point. Otherwise, they will stay zerged over and remain unavailable. Was on again today, and once again, battle islands were VS on emerald.

I don't care if other worlds get captured, that is the point of PS. But, I had thought the point of the Battle Islands was to provide smaller, more dense battles. As such, you don't need capturable bases. Make each base the same and setup a central area (even a base) as the goal for everyone to fight over. Then we can have continual, uninterrupted battles!
