Also, have to agree with Papagiorgio, Timothy Zahn is indeed one of the best authors I've read from. The Star Wars books he did were amazing. Nothing like the "New Jedi Order" crap thats been hitting the shelves as of late. Another one of my favorite authors is Issac Asimov. Man that guy could write.

I've been reading through The New Jedi Order Kick ass series. takes place after the new repub is up and running, and a alien race from a differant galaxy decides they want New Repub space. Its all about the jedi and republic fighting this force, and the sacrifices (2 MAJOR characters die) made, and battles won. Very good series that i suggest you check out. I'm on book 17 of 19. starts with the book Vector Prime

I'd have to recommend any of the new Dune books. They are quite good reads. It doesnt matter what anyone says, I liked the butlerian Jihad.

Also, anything by R.A. Salvatore is great.

another series i suggest is the Lon Tobyn Chronicle by David B Coe (consists of Children of Amarid, The Outlanders, and Eagle Sage. These are easily some of the best books I've ever read. Each is about 600 pages, and I finished all 3 within 2 weeks.

there are two authors i know of that wrote 2 books in that series that i enjoy a bit, David Sherman and Dan Cragg, their Starfist series is exelent, these two dudes were infantry in Vietnam, and Starfist is a series about a Marine Battalion IN SPACE! its pretty good.

and Asimov, is fucking awesome, no way around it, the shit he writes is pure gold.
