pretty sweet. the chain-wrap-over-hand thing is especially impressive.

the only thing that counts, as far as i'm concerned, is that my quickdraw video is shorter.

for video editing: veedub.

Indeed, gun > *

Its kinda sad. I could be a complete nun-chuck master like Bruce Lee, and a 14 year old could point a gun at me and I'd be screwed.

there's a local school that teaches a really good mix of tae kwon do, jujuitsu, karate, kempo, judo, and some crazy brazilian modification techniques. they use style blends and transitions as well as the individual disciplines; neat stuff.

Hmm. A mix sounds like a good bet, you benefit from the best of each martial arts style. My younger brother is a sensei at the local Isshin Ryu karate school, hes a big karate nut. I've learned a some karate, but I've always been more interested in weapons. (Nun-chuku, epee fencing, and archery thus far). While its not very practical (I doubt I'll ever get into a fight with my nun-chuku, a foil or a compound bow handy) I enjoy it a bit more. Perhaps some day I'll get back into unarmed defense, it certainly is the most useful if somebody decides to push you around.

I hate to say it, but ANY video of somebody practicing their moves with martial-arts related stuff while trying to be "flashy" will always make me laugh.

Thereunto:

Personally, I'm not the type to laugh at a demonstration of skill, unless it really sucks. If its apparent that somebody put the time and the effort into learning something, I have to appreciate that. I've seen some pretty friggin awesome displays of skill at the Isshin Ryu academy. And... then I've been to a couple talent shows where the amount of "talent" the demonstrator had was painfully low. You can't help but snicker a bit at people like that.

Reminds me of that scene from that Bruce Lee movie where he awes the bad guy with nunchuck skills before clobbering him.

Except that you are a little bit off. And missing all the muscles.

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.
