I guess people just want PS2 to look as good and professional as possible though, so I guess it's understandable.

I wonder what they're going to do for the actual PS2 launch, if the story is going to ramp up especially to that event. Could be a good way to boost hype that much more. I've been enjoying the slowly expanding story so far.

Also, to continue with the hole picking, whoever actually posted the news item on the website used the wrong image

February 12th
May 13th

Now we wait.

Crap, do you know what this means????

If we can't get at least 75,000 volunteers to sign up THE FLEET WON'T LAUNCH

Tell your friends! Tell your dog! Hell, tell your enemies!

Some of the errors do take the edge off it. The big ones:

"The thousands of explorers that had returned to Earth empty handed were disappointing, to say the least."

"Sorry to interrupt, Tom, but you ever think the aliens, if they even exist, don’t want to be found?"

It would only take a few seconds to fix them.

Sentences with five or six clauses also look bad to me, but whatever.

Don’t forget Pluto was blown up. If the aliens are capable of destroying entire planets, perhaps we have to take the initiative.
Pluto is a Planet again!!!!! Well before it was blown up... But I remember when Pluto was a Planet... Only move by science I actually truly hate.

Not to be an apologist, but it can be argued that those lines don't need to be "fixed".

For everyone on Earth, especially Sean, err Tom Connery, seeing the explorers return empty handed would be disappointing, to say the least.

Also, the other is a line of dialogue, and if you say the line then it does flow in the way people talk. People who speak grammatically perfect sound like robots.

oh my god... the devs can be sooooo evil! mentioning these dates in the backgroundstory is just soooo evil speculation fodder!

i can almost picture them how they say "let´s put in some near future dates so we can have fun during the holidays, on the psu speculation forums!"
and everybody explodes in laughter!

hell those guys know how to have fun ;-)

ps: remember the tentonhammer vote. firefall on second place again!

Most people don't even know about the Fleet yet. This is Capitalist Trolling at it's finest.

I love these antics.

Okay... The first section of this historical archive is a diary entry. The subsequent sections are dictated minutes from Senatorial sessions. People generally don't obsess over proper grammatical syntax when writing/speaking informally. As such, we should not expect them to be grammatically perfect due to the nature of the source material.

Raymac is right. People are not robots. No extra proofreading is warranted IMO.

Oh, so you don't vote for your representative based on correct diction and eloquence?
Probably one of those weirdos that vote on merit alone.
Intriguing.
