With XP you need to reregister the software to the new computer. Call up MS support. When you install XP you need to register. When you do so, it takes a snapshot of your system. IF you reinstall your own software on another machine, MS will know if you don't register in so many days. Also, XP will not work after so many days of no registration. I think it's like 60 times or so.
MS Office XP is the same way. I know, kinda shitty. But they need their money.

That is funny, because the Goverment bitched at microsoft for putting too much "phone home" shit in it. Which is NOT good when you have XP running on NSA, Pentagon, or CIA computers. Last I heard MS was going to open the source code to them. |
