I'm not actually sure. It's just the stock barrel.
Speaking of this my dad is an engineer so he modeled my gun before for a class he took:
Though my gun makes quick work of an alluminum can. it can cut one in half if I use full auto. (Empties the 68 round clip in like 5 seconds ) Also if I ever buy another airsoft gun I'm getting an M93R.

used to play tournament paintball a few years ago, last tournament i played was accross the pond at NPPL Huntington Beach, CA in 2007.
still got my kit(1 of 10 Clan custom Eclipse Ego 07), but it was getting abit expensive playing tournaments every month. personally i didnt find paintballs hurt that much, 280FPS max, and for tournament paintball you were not allowed all the layers and armour you get in rec-ball. although the pace of the game helps as its just utter adrenalin from game-on. |

I've never played Airsoft, but i've played Paintball several times.
Paintball does indeed hurt like a bitch. I've been bleeding in more than once place from a paintball game, as well as having bruises all over my chest and back (Flag running because i'm a nippy bastard). But yeah, paintball guns really suck a range. That said, i've only ever used the ones supplied - never a custom one. |

I had to order a new UTG MK96 today, I'll post some pics of it when it arrives on Wednesday, in case none of you have seen it. I'm going to spray a woodland camo on it later.
And Duke, I'm not sure what airsoft guns made your friends bleed but I've been shot >10 feet with a ~410 FPS gun and it did nothing but leave a small welt. It sure did hurt like hell though. |

Airsoft hurts more. Especially when you have little ******* that break FPS limits and trick out their guns to 500 FPS because it "makes it shoot straighter". Bitches don't know bout my hop-up.
But god the blunt force from a paintball really stings you. I got hit on the trigger finger once, holyshitfuck.

And you've played CQC against little ******* whose gold-shitting parents buy them overcharged 450fps mp5s with taclites and .25g bbs? Yowch city.

I've played airsoft for the last 4 years since the largest free field in the area is about 10 minutes away. I've picked up quite an aresenal along the way. These haven't been chronoed in a while, but IIRC they all (minus the bar-10) shoot over 400fps with .25s:
JG AUG - My first gun ever. It's really accurate after a spring and TBB upgrade, but I hate the trigger system on it. Classic Army M14 - This was a roommate's gun, but he gave it to me when he moved out. A little unwieldy and a pain in the ass to work on, but good otherwise. UTG L96 - Picked this up for $100 with about that much in upgrades. it doesn't get much use because the ranges at the field are either too close or too far for it to be useful. JG BAR-10 - I bought this one shortly after the L96, so it hasn't seen much love from me. While I like the field overall, it's mostly Tennessee-style backwoods, with endless little spiky bushes and trees. Nothing like trying to crawl through that trying not to be seen. Also the field I play on is very lax in its FPS limits, so you get lots of assholes with their 500fps 50rps M4 variants who don't follow CQB rules. I've seen several BBs lodged in skin from that. |

PDI Hopup for Type 96. http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/PDI_Ho...96_p/66229.htm I always recommend if you start to upgrade a gun go straight to the hopup. |

To further derail this thread, I would like to invite the members of PSU to attend the US Army Military Academy at West Point's bi-annual (and 25th anniversary) Combat Classic paintball game. If you've never played paintball before, this is a great opportunity to see scenario woodsball at its best. For those of you who have played before, this game sets the standard.
Firstly, it's a war-game run by the Army's Corps of Cadets. Secondly, the refs are professional and very attentive (they're USMA cadets). Thirdly, it's run by the Army... so you'll find cadets tossing smoke grenades and arty sims, and firing blanks from machine guns on the field. There are usually static displays of military equipment at the assembly areas, staffed by soldiers and cadets. In the past we've been treated to a precision airborne insertion by the cadet parachute team (their goal was to land on a small X painted in the field) and a sniper/counter-sniper demonstration, as well as several fly-bys from the local National Guard/Reserve units. We've also been privileged to have in attendance several famous veterans from well-known battles whenever the scenario presents that opportunity (for example, the Battle of Ia Drang scenario saw several of the guys from that unit, who were featured characters in "We Were Soldiers"). Send me a PM if you're in the New York area (or within a decent driving distance) and would like more details. |
