When I asked Higby if vehicles and equipment degraded over time:

...equipment degrades when blown up. There are two degradation states actually: "functional" and "exploded"

Persistent battle damage on vehicles would be incredible. Even to see the repaired damage after it has been repaired, this would take immersion to new levels.

Honestly, I liked how in PS1 there wasn't a lot of visual damage. Made the game feel like a gentleman's war.

PS1 Used decals on the rendered hull of the models. Of course they were not saved, or even sent to other users that did not see the event happen.

lol, I will need to remember this the next time a "friendly" decides to shoot through me to kill the same target I am shooting.

Huh? Most of my Magriders looked like Al Capone decorated it with bullet holes and then set it on fire.

My bad, I was equating "visual damage" as bullet holes and charred marks.
