basically can't do shit, except the bare minimum, as free in EQ2/EQ. really hoping it doesn't turn out like this in PS2!
side note i don't think the gold limit is correct on that page
just for the record;
you get 8 classes out of 25
you get to pick 4 races out of 20
you can not use Legendary or fabled gear (basically what you need to do anything in a group)
so this is why people pay to play a "F2P" game..
and instead of paying $14 a month for everything you can buy each piece for like $5-7.50+ worth of SC..

Part of that is EQ2 went from sub to the free model. The premise of the F2P model is to get people to move to the sub eventually with that game. I do not believe PS2 will share this model as evident from the fact they have no idea what the sub will carry. Its going to be a true F2P as opposed to a half assed one like EQ2.

that's what I am really hoping for, and to see future games made in that model also. I guess PS2 is kinda the guinea pig for real F2P. If it succeeds then we can look forward to actual F2P games, that sell fluff items in shop. but if it fails than it will probably end up switching over to the other business model.

But TBH nobody knows what is going to happen with PS2 until they finish. even Beta probably wont tell us much in respects to subs/how F2P will work etc. They can say one thing today and change it in a few days/weeks at this stage.

If you look at buying it, it has this line before checkout:

"Station Cash Granted For Membership Upsell: 500 SC"

A friend of mine said that it was a monthly thing, but perhaps it's only monthly if you buy your all access pass per month. If it is a one off bonus per transaction, then getting a cheaper 6 Monthly or Yearly all access pass might only get it once.

I want to clarify, i do not have a SONY All-Access pass and my information is a mix of 2nd-hand and speculation from their website ;p
