Yes this idea is extremely awesome, but I have a feeling that the devs would say something like it would cause more lag or something down those lines and would be hard to implement it without increasing lag within the game.

I'm not sure how it would work from a technical standpoint, but if it's just on your HUD, I would imagine it could be pretty low resolution and the detail wouldn't have to be very high. I'm not sure whether it would function as a stream or a separate rendering. Portal 2 did something similar pretty well. When you pressed tab in the co-op, you could see your partner's perspective. That was on a much smaller scale, though.

That's assuming a significant portion of the population won't turn integrated voice off. Because as a F2P game, there won't be whiny 12 year olds screaming obscenities and racial slurs, right?
Even with integrated voice, I'd still like to show my driver/gunner what I'm talking about when I say "that guy over there". I just don't see any reason not to add it, assuming it's not too complicated and doesn't create bandwidth problems like some people have suggested. Last edited by Zenben; 2012-04-15 at 03:58 AM. |
