At least sort off. We did have the problem of the Chinese guys blowing the gens at one point, even on already captured bases we were waiting for the hack timer. They were annoying.

Indar is using Oshur base names (everyone had assumed it was Ishundar), but the other 2 ready for launch were mentioned in the PC Gamer artical as Amerish (also mentioned other places by devs, confirmed in) and Esamir (not confirmed).

Oh the stories I could tell you.

Every time we took a base, there would be screaming of "DEFEND THE GENERATORS!" in chat. Everyone would pile into the room, pointing their guns at everyone else just waiting for someone to fire at the thing.

5-6 people would stand at the door and block the entrance, screaming "Anyone trying to enter the generator room will be shot"

And we would stay there for 15 minutes while these Chinese named blokes tried over and over again to get in and blow it up, and we'd be forced to TK them over and over again.

Was pretty funny in hindsight though.

Meh. I'd rather see all new server names. We'll have more servers than PS1, so I'd rather not screw some servers over with a shortage of PS1 veterans.

A PS2 server will be able to hold at least as many players as a PS1 server, assuming they hit their 2000 per continent goal. Not all of the PS1 players will be returning, so it's not like the servers couldn't handle it.

The only problem would be having servers that were mostly new to Planetside vs servers full of vets, but considering this will be a different game in a lot of ways, I'm not sure that's a horrible thing. I'd probably make some alts on one of the new named servers to play with some of the new crowd.

Besides, if they end up having a ton of servers at launch and then fold some of them together as more continents are added, they could just give the old school named servers priority, so we would all end up playing together anyways.
