It's ridicilous that the game looks better and more polished than half of the days released shooters before it even leaves alpha.

I am STUNNED that they got nominated especially by IGN!! NOT because they don't deserve it but because those sites shun the PC in general and give little thought to PS2 while console games and other games get praised for so much innovation.

I'll be surprised if they won anything, in fact dumbfounded but like I said, NOT because they don't deserve it. The system is really lame and a console game will get the spotlight is my guess.

GRATS for the recognition and the fantastic showings at E3 though! everything seems to have went amazingly!

I always felt like all the big budget games got nominated, irrespective of their actual worth. I don't think Planetside will win any best of E3 (although they might win Best PC game of E3) just because it doesn't feel like its hyped up enough.

Another thing that's confusing to me a lot of those nominations look like they are for "best of E3" overall as they say best of E3 but look at this list on IGN...

You have to scroll ALLLLLL the way to the bottom to find Planetside 2. It's not mentioned in the best overall, best shooter, or even best PC category. It sits lonely in the Best MMO category. Still a great nomination but Cmon!!! SERIOUSLY!?!?!? It's like they are just ignoring the ambition of this game as not only an FPS but as a game in general.

They better win best MMO!!! They can!!!

Publicity is publicity.

Clearly to the planetside universe - a completely impartial and fair-minded group - PS2 deserves to win every one of those awards.

Even the nomination alone is enough for good press, so it's already a win. Great show, great presentation, great demo. Mission Accomplished for E3 for sure.

Next stop - PAX Prime? (please?

Great work on the nominations.

We all recognise the skew in how they are awarded, so all the better the achievement.

People have to produce content (including these awards) that appeals to their core reader group. And currently the mass perception is that the console market provides that readership.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, the game will define it's own success, and then they can write some piece "IS PC GAMING BACK FROM THE DEAD [or have we just been blinded by our wee wii's]". And we can laugh snobbishly at them.

Of course they are ignoring PS2 ambitions.

IGN hasn't even stopped by Planetside 2 booth yet.
They don't know a shit about the game, that's why it's "only" on the MMO category, when it should also be in best PC, and maybe even best FPS and best overall.

Because, let's be honest, Black Ops 2 is in "best overall" and "best fps", but still looks boring and not innovative for a second.

I can give Planetside 2 my best of E3.

The best thing about Planetside 2 is we know it isn't all a lie because SOE have done it before with the first. I really want Watch Dogs to play that well but I just think it is all demo scripting.

congrats and well deserved , its about time planetside got some recognition , and as for ign , i don't think they understand what pc gaming is and they know nothing of this game , turn a blind eye and stick to the console crap that you know !
