The Vortex could be a separate variant name for the Scythe. We know that there will be customization options that will allow ES vehicles to perform slightly more like their enemy counterpart vehicles, so the Vortext could perhaps be a faster Scythe variant that more closely behaves like a Mosquito or something. It would be very strange to rename the Scythe completely, especially when there was so much ridicule over the first name Dyson and so much love for the second name Scythe. |

Considering the Scythe is not mentioned at all, and it's the only 'unknown' vehicle model, I'm going to have to judge it's just the Scythe is disguise. At least it's not a dyson!
I think it's sad I was far less interested in that and weapons and was like "OMG BIRDS and FOSSILS"

Its not uncommon for a display name and an internal implementation name to differ. Vortex is probably the name when they started and they decided to rename. Changing only the external display name is easier and less risky than changing the class and file names.

Dyson - Vortex makes sense if they just changed the name you see to Scythe. |

I don't entirely know why, but I'm excited by the thought of butterfly's and other small fauna. I hope I'll be able to tell the difference between PS2 land and the local field, or those dog walkers wearing blue and yellow are in trouble!

Interesting post though. Someone had mentioned elsewhere on the boards that they wanted fauna and flora. One of the best things about running around in the Witcher games was all the wildlife, it really brings the world alive.

I would have preferred they stick with the cosmic theme the for Scythe. Dyson was a cosmic term (Dyson Sphere), though the vacuum cleaner similarity makes it a terrible choice. It kinda looks like a scythe, and it sounds scarier, I'd still want them to do something that is consistent with the cosmic theme they have going for the VS.

I think they resemble the Kilrathi Dralthi fighters a bit, myself. (Different enough to not be a clone, of course - but there is a similarity in the cutting wing shapes in the E3 footage and trailer (not so much in the picture on the wiki))

It's really the name MagRider that doesn't make any sense.
