Technology can`t be stopped, and fear of it, never helped master it. Yes you need to be careful, you need control, but standing still is death, only development grands survival. That is why technolgy is power, through power survival. It also means, taking new oppertunites as they appear and self advancement. That the idiology behind this, in ps1 i liked the unique feautres ideas, AP Switch, Lahser, a weapon which projectile hit nearby enemy, Hovertank? Non Arcing Tank weapon? Precise, no lock on AV weapon (but reduced damage). |

Disclaimer: Not blowing smoke because your a TR fan, this is all the truth.
Having been initially introduced to the Planetside universe by Totalbiscuits convincing set of videos I naturally developed a strong bias towards the Terran Republic. At first I simply wanted to follow in his footsteps, but as i looked further into the factions I realized that TR may just be the faction for me. The Pride: From just the short time I've been a part of the PSU community, the PS2 youtube community, etc. I have noticed the immense amount of pride that comes along with the TR. Having watched the matt hibgy haircut stream (among other streams E3 etc.) I quickly noticed growing trends among the fans. Not only did the Vanu faction seem to attract younger players, it seemed to attract interesting answers to the reporters questions. When asked "why Vanu?" they would talk about the coolness of the tools the Vanu had to play with or the fun mechanics Vanu were given. But when a member of the TR was asked similar questions they would speak about their faction as if it were a real and tangible thing rather than a video game. Where a Vanu looks for the coolest thing to play, a TR is looking at the situation as a true war where coolness and cosmetics are non-issues. A member of the NC however is less worried about ascetics, but rather they seemed to be concerned with smack talking and competition. Once again, I believe the most fun from this game will be taking it as a true War and the TR seem to fill this niche. Maybe I just need to find a great TR outfit that takes things very seriously (perhaps I could find this on all factions). I'm not gonna sit here and tell you I went and memorized the history of any of the factions or that I even know what I'm talking about. But from the few months that I've been following this community I have witnessed immense pride surrounding the TR cause and a level seriousness that can only be matched by serious Role players but fortunately for all of us, that won't be necessary. TLDR: Fuck vanu |

A huge, giant thank-you to TRG for being generous and giving the community some creative things to do while we all wait for the beta/release of the game!
If I see TRG in game, I'll be sure to say hello... with my cannon! Haha jk Cheers and thanks again to Top Sgt. and TRG! |
