Some will be much more disappointed than others. I do not envy the mods once all the bile starts getting posted. With respect to Hamma's post on no whining, it will happen regardless

Does anyone know how long it is planned to run? I am going to be gone the first week of August returning the 8th. Here's hoping I won't miss it.

A few months atleast. You'll be fine.
After the closed beta with the keys, they will open it up to everyone before the true release. It will take quite some time to hammer out the kinks.

I'm honestly hoping that once the beta is opened, it stays opened until the game is released. Maybe a week or two at best of downtime during the two.

I agree and wouldn't think they would close the game for any time between open beta and release. People will be able to use the cash shop and buy things toward the end of open beta I'm sure. There really wouldn't be a reason to turn the game off when games are no longer being sold in stores but rather being downloaded online. It should just roll right into being 'released'.

It was stated in an interview the Beta would be open until release. So no worries.
