For our Outfit? We want to talk to each other outside of the game. If you crash out of PS2, you can at least say something rather than just dropping out of voice. Established organized groups will always use out of game voice because their groups extend outside PlanetSide 2. The first thing I ever do? Disable in game voice in any game I play.

Teamspeak has whisper lists. They allow you to speak to different groups of people depending on which button you press. For example a lib pilot and his gunner can talk without the rest of the squadron hearing them. For leaders who need to give different orders to many subordinates without flooding their comm channel, this is even more important.
This also helps creating a community as outfit members can play other games while still on teamspeak. And there's many little -but very useful- functionalities like the ability to tune someone else's sound level.

We're switching because the in-game voice tends to cause some folks wifi to die. And when I say die, I mean it literally kills any signal, I believe it kills it for anyone on the same router too. Since they've turned off the in-game voice there's been no issue whatsoever
