All vehicles work from power generated by the warp gates, any vehicles that strays to far from the warpgates will stop operating.

Ok here's all the info you need about water and vehicles :

VS vehicles can hover over water for a short amount of time. Afterwards they sink.

Deliverer is amphibious, it can cross any body of water.

All others vehicles cannot go into water.

ALL vehicles cannot cross from 1 continent to another.

You can NEVER CROSS BETWEEN CONTINENTS. Unless you use a warp gate or drop pod. So no cruise ship ride or flight between contients.
