Well sure it isn't. You don't get awarded XP for lighting up targets with radar do you? This is a game about blowing shit up, not logically helping with non-scoring options.

The overall problem with intermittency is probably related to the rendering problem where enemies don't show then poof there they are.

Go to the crown when it's being heavy contested and just look at all the red dots that don't show on your map genius. Look it's not working as intended. I don't see why you are arguing except other than to troll and argue. It doesn't work lol. You aren't seeing 40+ dots on your map. You might see 3-4.. maybe 10 if you are lucky. You think there are only 10 people around you? You can't be serious.

How can I look at dots that do not show on my map?

I would also like to see your evidence that those 40 people are firing at the same time that you think you should be seeing.

Ok tested it. In a non contested area so render distance wasn't a problem.

It does work. But it is flawed in many ways.

1: They only show on the mini map as dot if there firing. Soon as they stop it disappears.
I would like to see it linger at there last know location for 2/3 seconds. Or flag them and follow them for 2/3 seconds.

2: The Color is a washed out red. Which is almost impossible to make out.
Make it a deep dark red. So its easier to spot.

3: If they are on an objective [A] for example. You simply cannot make them out on the minimap. And impossible if your looking at a TR Red [A]

The main problem is that its almost impossible to make out the red dot. So where you think its not showing. its you cant see it. And there is a radius confirmed by clegg. Which is under 30m. Im not sure of the exact limit.

Spot the red dot. It is there

So, working as intended.

Now, you can suggest those issues you perceive, as suggestions.

Working small scale yes. But it shows it needs work done to it.

I know it works in sparsely populated instances as I use it to tracking snipers all the time (the ones without silencers), as well as using the map to snipe during lightly contested main base fights.

I think it might be an off-shoot of the render problem. It may not be showing the dots for those units it doesn't render, even if they are firing.

Oh, and the scout radar on a fury shows a lot of nice little red dots... but is definitely under utilized and/or doesn't last long once someone discovers the bike. I used it at the crown the other night and it was insane the number of dots it showed (unfortunately they were all bunched together and pretty useless as the map doesn't zoom in.)

I'd love a zoom toggle on my minimap. I don't find it useful to use when I'm sitting in a building capping a point, I don't have a sense as to whether there actually are any red dots heading my way.

Was a useful feature of of the box in PS1, customizeable and useful.

All things have position in height. Red dots stack when in close proximity. Do you really need to be able to count, and identify each red dot ( a visual impossibility ) when they are in close proximity?

Isn't "mass of red dots over there" a good indicator of, well, there is "a bunch over there".

higby has mentioned this and the problem is tracking all the players. it eats up resources and will impact gameplay.

That's completely different scope that hes talking about. Its in reference to across the entire map.

Those little dots are not magical, they use the positional data of the dynamic objects, it would require all clients are updated with everyone's positional data at all times.
