Any confirmation about my off topic question? Am I wrong about infiltrators not being able to use submachineguns? . . Nothing shows up in store if you select Infiltrator + SMG, and someone here mentioned this having to do with the ability for infiltrators to allegedly use SMG's
on TR faction, if that makes any difference |

was playing last night and a bunch of them with smg's were wreckig havoc at one of our caps. NV doesn't work nearly as good anynore, but the most frustrating part is when you do see one and start shooting at it, you can't spot them if you spam Q even while you are hitting them. I was trying to take one out and my teammates would just stand there thinking I was shooting my gun out of boredom during the long caps.
If I have them dead in my crosshairs with NV I should be able to spot invisible or not and now they get cqc killing machines that rival my shotgun up close and can still kill me from a mile away with a quick weapon swap. guess long as SOE sells more gun to pay for all of the overtime for the broken patch we got. |

I was pretty confused as well, I looked for it in the store didn't see it. 20 minutes later I got killed by an NC infiltrator with one. So I was then pretty sure infils got them. Took a bit to find it. Also I have to agree with the whole thread. On low settings cloaked inflis are MUCH easier to see, and as was mentioned even easier to see at night. As a TR and then again as an NC both the VS and TR cloakers are probably easier to see at night AFTER they cloaked than had they not. I can even pick them out while they are cloaked and stationary. Felt like cheating... but I still shot him. |

I can say that as an infiltrator, I've been getting smoked while invisible about ten times more than pre-patch. Even on the highest settings, I've been able to track invisible enemies zig-zagging across the map in my 12x scope, where as pre-patch enemies would pop invis and disappear on me most of the time.
Makes me a sad panda. Also makes me play Light Assault instead. |

I play on ultra and I'd say cloaks are quite a bit harder to see.
They have a much less obvious profile on IR, also. Not sure if this is from the patch... or because I started playing on ultra instead of medium/high. |

I haven't had much issues with spotting them in general. I do have a problem of thinking they are friendly cloakers (ie, not noticing that they don't have a triangle above their head.)
I no longer try and play infil as a cloaker... only as a sniper nowadays. When I need more close quarters action, I switch to engie... more ammo and ability to repair maxes is more useful than trying to stay hidden with a very audible short-term cloak that just makes you fuzzy instead of invisible. It's great for sniping... (acquiring targets while semi-invisible, then popping out and taking the shot) True cloaking needs love, until then... they are pretty much just snipers to me. Give me a suit that restricts me to mines and pistol... and gives me invisibility and i'll start playing cloaker again. |

On High and Ultra, Infiltrators are no more or less difficult to see than they were pre-GU2. There's the visual distortion as they're moving, but they're invisible when not moving.
The big change is that it's exactly the same when looking at them through an IR/NV scope. They no longer glow. I don't know if that's intentional, but I hope it is. I'm actually afraid of non-sniping Infiltrators now. Edit: Although I think they still do glow at the edge of the IR/NV scope's range. I'm not 100% sure about that, though. Is there some official voice on this matter? I was able to see the infils when was using the HS/NV scope but now I cant see it at all. Tested in all the qualities of graphics from low to ultra graphics the same thing:

WHY? Because I was trying to post a complain about it and just writing the title, it shows me that is others threads on the same matter. So... I want to complain about this and I want to see the Infiltrator again... No logic when you are using a heat sensor you cant see anything at all but you can see him with "your eyes". The thing is: this was not on the feet of modifications at any update as far as I know and I'm thinking it is not intended to be...

It's the same as if I had a scope on my gun that would disable HA's shield when I look at him, or Engineer not being able to repair, or Medic heal, or LA fly. |

Indeed. I don't remember the devs ever passing the thermal optics off as being hard counter to infiltrators.
