A good question was brought up in IRC this evening...

Would it help if we bought from the PSU store?

The answer is most likely not. The company PSU uses (www.cafepress.com) already charges the minimum price for the items. To make it so people would *want* to buy the items, PSU can't raise the cost of the items very much. Buying a sweater from the store earns Hamma about $0.05. I would suggest just donating the money if you can.

But hey, $0.05 is money.

if you do have 2,000 members, send an email to each of them requesting a dollar to be sent to a ceratin address, by far most of them will do it, because its a dollar, or even quarters or whatever. ask for little and you'll get alot, hopefully.

I think what we're doing now is enough, We dont want to have to resort to sending out e-mails asking for donations.

Paypal rocks. I've been using it for probably two years now to transfer funds around (and to collect from eBay auctions) and have never had a problem with them (well, I had one guy who is now being searched for for credit card fraud, but PayPal told me that they couldn't confirm his address, so trusting him was my risk, so that's completely not their fault). It's both quick and easy. And free to use to send money, let's not forget that.

btw, I did transfer some funds to PSU that I had sitting there. It's not much, but I'm broke at the moment.

i just sold off my daoc accounts so i had some spare cash to send in... i suggest you all do the same at some point since we're the ones who use and abuse the site the most
