I would probably throw in for a sub if they added Planetside 1 as a feature for subscribing. It'd probably be a 3/mo deal, but I would probably do it.

I'd probably give PS1 a go again for kicks, but the novelty would wear off soon enough and I'd return to PS2 I'm sure. Always something to work towards, need them certs!

Methinks they'll open PS1 - with the hope/assumption it will flop. This will enable Smed & Company to more freely continue to make PS2 in his/their teams vision - and less like what so many PS1 vets & uber-nostalgists seem hell-bent for.

I miss many elements from PS!, but not the overall game. It did become too repetitive & boring. Make no mistake though, the early days of PS1 was a "gaming experience" I've yet to find again anywhere. The "teamwork feel" is not there yet in PS2. More teamwork tends to generate more comraderie. High levels of comraderie will keep guys playing even when gameplay becomes too repetitive.

Let's see I've tweeted this to him during Beta. I've talked about it to Higby at Gamescom, I must have brought it up pre-alpha, during alpha, beta and later frequently on the PSU forums and in chats with CRMs as soon as PS2 was announced... urgh. :x


Yes indeed /facepalm, why DIDN'T they take note of it earlier? Well better late than never.


And I think the response will be quite good. I mean, it takes 500 people to populate the server decently, we got tens of thousands of players in PS2. Getting a few across should be no problem.

That's cool but it's not enough to make me want to subscribe to Planetside 2. The sub benefits in regards to PS2 itself are still lacking. Just for starters ability to get loyalty bonus's again like subscribe for certain number of months to get unique weapons would be cool. Some are already in the game like Zepher PX, or FB Pistols. Why can't you earn those for subbing for a while?

PS1 access would make me sub to PS2, but I'm going to hold out a bit and see if it goes F2P as was promised.
