But you can use basic tank tactics - people just choose not to because they earn more xp by taking crazy risks - and if you do lose the tanks its no big deal just grab a new one. 1 dont go near buildings. 2 Stay close to 2 or 3 other friendly tanks. Surprise you start dying less to infantry.

I usually have more success in large battles letting the infantry go first. Once the infantry are engaged its easier to pick your shots and support. If your ahead of your line without other armor and infantry to back you up, your're asking for it.
But I'm thick headed, still haven't completely cured myself of the bloodlust that draws me away from my support and gets me blown up. After a couple of choice curse words, I'm usually gtg for the rest of my play session after that momentarily lapse in judgement. Last edited by CraazyCanuck; 2013-05-13 at 11:01 AM. |

WOT isnt PS2 but driver/guner is not the reason tanks die a lot. Tanks die often because they take huge risks often.

Infantry should kill more tanks. There's hundreds of infantry versus at most dozens of tanks. Even in big fights. The problem is that most tankers are god awful players or at least have developed terrible habits. They assume because they have armor and 120mm cannon they should be able to drive up to dozens of infantry and just collect their certs. And because they don't have dedicated drivers and gunners, they're seldom moving as they attack. Unless you're a Magrider. In which case you can strafe like infantry and do. But you're not really moving. Also by not having a driver your situational awareness is not good. You're looking down a weapon sight and some how supposed to be aware of and invulnerable to C4 and rockets flanking you? Tanks without dedicated crews are just large MAX units. Except more MAX users have learned and adapted to their weakness. Tankers just want more armor even after the buff.
