To be honest im really happy with the features that have come out so far, planned and unplanned. I would have liked more things, but to see good progress and features in the 6 months following release when im sure theres lots of upper SoE financial pressure to get the most out of the least is an encouraging sign for the next 6 months to come.

Okay, thats it. Devs, i know you read this: Please cease ALL communication with this community. Dont EVER tell them a single word of what your are up to. No reddit, no PSU, no Twitter, no offical forums. Let these fools REMEMBER how things used to be in the Industry, when things just got slapped into the players faces long after all the important decisions have been made. Seriously, you are the whorst kind of people. You are PART of the development process of this game, YOU DECIDE WHATS HAPPENING. Yet you cry and whine. |

My opinion in this discussion is based on the delivery method of advising the proposed changes to the game. They are not going to alter the way they do that based on what I say but I can still post my opinion it. Just like you can post your high horse extreme rant/opinion. If we had nothing but wannabe fanboy's flying the SOE flag regardless it would be pretty boring, same if it was all negative.

Also, as for your other post, what are you talking about cease communication? What communication do they have about any of the big updates? As they themselves said, they are not allowed to talk about Hossin, which would be the biggest content update to the game. They're FAR from an open development team. Shit, most of the time the only thing they actually respond to is flames through twitter. You need to take a step back and look at what they have done, and more importantly what was on the roadmap that should of already have been started and has not made it in. Look specifically at the small shit that makes a BIG difference to players like the Transfer Tokens and even the large shit outside of Hossin, like resource revamp. Look at the most voted things on the roadmap that have made it through the roadmap to completion. Only two of the top 10 even made it through the Roadmap(Account level unlocks, Max Revamp) and all 10 of them were originally slated prior to June. How long do you really think it takes to change the lattice? Look at Esamir already. Look at how fast Indar was redone, and it was completely redone(as we talked about in chat on the test server). Indar had massive base changes, terrain changes, and lattice implementation and it was 2 months ? Now it's taking a year to get Hossin done? It was originally on the roadmap for April. I give credit to people when it's due, this team has utterly failed to deliver any of the major content updates that are expected in a sequel to a game that had 12? continents. We have 3, we were told sometime within 6 months after release to expect another. Now we're being told double that amount of time. How long do you plan to give them on Searhus? What about Oshur? If you're ok with getting Oshur in 2015 more power to you, but if they want filled servers then they need to get moving quicker on the type of things that keep players interested. I'm a big fan of open development and I like that they TRY to be, but they're not anymore open then any other gaming company out there. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh, it's honest opinion and unfortunately there's a large amount of players that agree it's taking too long for the major content updates. Most players don't feel like they are deciding what is being worked on or when it is being worked on, because we aren't. The only thing that I'd give players credit for so far is the lattice changes, but outside of that can you name me anything that has moved up due to the players demand for it? |

Disappointing. Not only because Hossin has been pushed back further than I had expected it to be, but also because the Light Assault update has been set to unscheduled. I understood and was okay with them moving up the Infiltrator update, but I did expect Light Assault to be next in line.
The changes to infantry combat shown on FNO (more walls, aerial shields) have been interesting to see, but if they are part of what is holding back Hossin, then the devs should stop working on them now. Polishing old content won't bring people back like entirely new content will, and I want our servers to remain full. Come on devs, get the new stuff out faster. And get server transfer tokens out pronto so we can balance out the ridiculous population problems. |

A tad annoying they have communicated this only days after 6 month subs would have got renewed by the starters, but hey passive certs. I am going to take a break in all honesty until 4th cont comes out.
But its cool to see some issues that bug me on the to-do list. *Extra loadout slots *Streamlined loadout UI (hopefully means hotkeys) *Squad colours customizable

Am i a bit disappointed we aren't going to see Hossin till September? Sure.. but some of the reactions in this thread are laughable.
I would much rather they put the lattice on the other two continents, get some really good fights going on them, LEARN about what makes great environments to fight in and push ALL that into the polish of Hossin before it is released. What is the alternative? they rush Hossin out because some scrubs want a map with big trees, they have to rework it three or four times like they have Indar and that causes Searhus, Ceryshan, Cyssor etc to be pushed back even further. The development they are doing RIGHT NOW has massive knock on effects for the game as a whole, they are trying to figure out the basic mechanics for the game that will be the foundations for many years to come. Many continents to come. They cant rush it out just to appease you guys, no matter whether you choose to accept this, or just react with blind nerd rage.. they are doing it in the right way. @Assist, you have over 30 days of play time (an average of around 4 hours a day since release) and it sounds like you are bored because you want more content/continents. Maybe you should do as you suggested, find a new game to play till the devs can catch up with you.. Go take a walk, ride a bike. Either way quit getting all riled up and posting self entitled rubbish on here. Personally i am going to enjoy the summer, go to some festivals, get drunk, see friends, work my balls off (like normal) and before i know it will be September and i will have some nice and shiny new things in this awesome game.

A couple of the reactions are wildly OTT. They are critising the roadmap based on what they want it to be rather than what it was intended to be.
That said this is extremely disappointing. Only one new continent released in a year, that is way below my lowest expectation. I think Newsith is now being too optimistic on his November - December forecast, I'd put it at least 3 months later. Some of the other stuff is good, some is just froth and bling. Nothing measures up against the importance of new continents / active warpgates and inter-continental lattice, which I don't see there at all. Indeed this is a good time to take a break, otherwise we'll be burnt out and tired of it all well before we see a proper planetside. |

Hossin in September, continent locking in November... I get the feeling that they only have 10 guys working on ps2, the rest has been pulled to another game that will be released as unfinished as ps2 and then left alone. Too bad, it had potential, but now that the real gameplay is so far away... makes me sad.
Do you guys remember Smed saying that he is sorry that the game feels like planet of battlefield and that this is gonna change soon? I guess that was a year ago and nothing changed. .sent via phone.

i don´t understand the roadmap concept at all.
we can influence the score of certain things (also i don´t know how) but this doesn´t change anything because the score doesn´t change when things are made! the months are all seperated, so what´s the point of the score system? it would only make sense, when topics with great score would get higher priority and move up to earlier updates, while stuff nobody cares about gets delayed to later months. i am happy to finally see engineer update on the list, but november? at least the cloaker update isn´t too far away.
