I was watching TwF's twitch stream last night and Higby was there as well. So I went ahead and asked him about the melee option for Infiltrators and he said "Katanas and ***". So I did get an admission that katanas will be available for infiltrators and possibly other melee stuff as well.

Infiltrator wants:

Fix god damned bolt action sniper rifles, headshots should be OHK regardless of range. They suck ass for everything else, give them what they had back before everyone rolled high levels of nanoweave.

More meaningful cloak options (just like stalker cloak, love it). Other cool things would be like a cloak that didn't make you invisible, but made you look close to an enemy faction so you could fool people. (Would have to have some drawback like still having an enemy dorito on you or something)

A role such as forward air controller or advanced spotting, needs to have no weapon equipped to balance it, but think of it as spotting on steroids. Gives a large target indicator placed on an enemy vehicle (almost like platoon waypoint) that rewards big exp to the infiltrator when its destroyed.

Vehicle hacking. Would have to be restricted types, sundies would be too game breaking. Maybe put a destruct timer on it once flipped.

Some base objective that revolves around hacking. Yes it's nice to be wanted in a gal drop, but I would like to be more useful than a sundy whore.

That's the wish list so far...

Sounds like I might have a reason to play infiltrator in the future. I like the more sneaky style with the SMGs, but it would be fun to be more of a sabotuer and mess up enemy back lines.

I think if they are going to release the stalker cloak it needs to be much harder to see than the 2 current versions we have now. The only time I don't see infiltrators now is usually if they are sniping far away or manage to get behind me. Otherwise their shimmer can be seen from a pretty good distance away on most settings.

Give my VS a energy blade katana and I will probably never play anything else. The faction melee weapons totally need to be very faction specific oriented.

Why limit it. There are tactics to secure a sundy. mines, guards, another stalker to resecure it, etc. There should be no limitation on hacking. I think the reason Higby said it wasn't implemented is because they didn't have opposing faction skins created for the faction specific vehics. Lame huh?

Anyway I do think that there should be some limitation on hacking vehics tho, but not in what can and can't be hacked. If someone is unfamiliar with the mechanics of the vehicle, then you should have a penalty. Common pool are just that, no penalty, but when a hack is completed on a MBT from another faction, there should be a significant penalty on handling or accuracy on the main guns. Maybe even give the ability to cert into them if hi-jacking is your thing.

Maybe even allow boobytrap a vehic if (and only if) noone is in it. Someone loads up and boom! Or booby trap the main gun. People load up, drive to next base, gunner shoots and boom!

And put some doors in. These bases feel more like arenas than bases. Who doesn't lock the door to get to their secret lair. Really guys. Make Infils more useful. I feel like a sniper with a temporary "hide" the vast majority of the time.

Sure all they showed for the bastion was concept art. But Higby said that with the infiltrator update that they were getting the new inviso mode and katanas and other ***. This is gonna happen.

P.s. this giving the idea of full stealth. Need to understand what will be the level of stealth, i.e. if a stalker can really be invisible.

I imagine the stalker cloak will give the same limited invisibility that infiltrators enjoy now but with a much longer timer.

It might be cool if the stalker cloak was exactly the same as what we have now but with a movement bonus. So you could more easily close with the enemy and still have to worry about your cloak timer.

I dont see katanas being one hit weapons. The bonus to having a katana would mean having greater reach.

Cloak should already work as long as stalker cloak given how easy it is to see. So unless stalker cloak is also going to be less visible, you ought not give up anything.

Are you insane? The last thing PS2 should ever get is more OHKs and more snipers.

I'd be happy with the current level of visibility of the infiltrator cloak, with the added perk of unlimited duration while using Stalker cloak(or some kind of recharging while stationary hoop-la).

Makes me all giddy!
