I used to be able to run the game almost all ultra and record and saw a fairly steady 60fps even while recording. Now, when not even recording, my fps jumps around from low 40s to mid 20s and there is no noticeable reason for the changes in fps. I can be standing still not turning at a medium fight and the fps just goes crazy. I can't even fly near more than 15+ players because the stuttering and inconsistent fps makes me crash the aircraft over and over. |

lol... never said it was a great computer.
That said, it's perfectly fine for everything other than PS2. From video encoding, compiling software, graphics editing, and every other game I play. *shrug* I'm not buying a new computer to play one game, especially this one. Also, check this out: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/cpus/?sort=pct 44% of Steam users (aka gamers) are still using dual core processors. How many Core2/Phenom/Athlon II class processors do you think make up the current install base? The real niche is the i5/i7 K series users who overclock. If that's SOE's target market, this game is doomed. |

PhysX support should be improved; its unstable
All shadows and shaders should be optimized and/or moved to the video card! Possibiliy of GPU/CPU switch in user options for these, esp. for SLi/CrossFire setups Multicore support |

Fix. The. Audio. Ducking.
I know this is more of a "bug" than "optimization" but i think that the VOIP would be much more "optimized" if i could hear myself talking when there were tanks firing and lolpods raining from above. The game ducks audio when someone else is transmitting. But since about GU3, they broke or turned off or SOMETHING the audo ducking when YOU transmit, so i'm constantly feeling like i need to shout to be heard when things are happening around me. Not to mention the VOIP system is laggy, scratchy and drops randomly. Its probably not as bad for some in the States as it is for us in Australia, because from everything i can find out, the VOIP servers are just one big server situated in like the states (an IP lookup says Massachusetts but that could mean anything). So maybe the laggyness is just because of that, but still.. Ducking.. Yeah.. Last edited by bobtheflower; 2013-08-27 at 08:40 PM. |

It's 2013. Also, why are shadows a CPU burden? Still WTB my map on a second monitor. And please for the love of God spread these lattice fights out a little. The fights are way too big, and I can hardly get enemies to render at times. ps: I'm still dying to unrendered ammo towers and antennas (such as the one by the outpost north of allatum). I've been dying to unrendered objects for almost a year now. It's about time we see a fix (srsly).

*EDIT* One thing concerning optimizations comes to mind: the HUD. I don't know what they use but since beta people report that disabling your HUD gives you a significant FPS increase. With the recent patch and performance problems the HUD seems to be a big issue too. I remember a similar issue during the Natural Selection 2 Alpha where the HUD was rendered in flash and was a huge resource hog. Once they rewrote the HUD the game got a big performance increase. It surely is no secret that the PS2 HUD is slow and sluggish, maybe a rewrite of whatever they use could also benefit performance. The current implementation surely doesn't help. Use more of my CPU efficiently: I'd like to see all four cores used well instead of Core 0 at 50% and Cores 1-3 at 12%.

FPS frame rate in heavy load battle , Multicore
LAg compensation issue , such as LAG exploits ( warping See Vonicvs and NIVX ) , but also the double revenge kills / dead The out of sync issue thats lead some players to not be able to do damage no more but also allow some player to become (( invisible )) but they still able to kill anything on their client ... |
