i hope it isn't like that. in the BF games, i remember running away from grenades before they even threw them. in 2142, i would hear the PAC (Russians) say "granade" (granada... well that is what it sounded like), and i would be hauling ass. it made grenades really ineffective to a player who was paying attention.
i guess that is why it was not added into the game, though, same as those "phalanx turret compromised" computer callouts. |

They...even have all these voices in the game? But don't let us use them? What a joke.
I wanted a proper voice macro menu since i first played PS2, and now seeing these is such a dicktease. The whole voice macro thing is such a good example of the halfassedness and inconsistency of this game. Just like the voice macros that can be used with this stupid "spot menu" (i really hate that thing); Why can't we have a normal, proper voice macro menu that would make sense and not be a pain in the ass to use? No no no, we have to stand around like an idiot aiming on one person and trying to move the mouse on the "i need a gunner", "i have ammo" or "i can repair you" box in this shitty menu that shifts all over the place as soon as the other person moves around. What a load of crap. Give us a working "Voice macro" menu dammit! Look it up on Planetside 1 to see how you make a working one. That one even had animations that went with the voice macro, which is something else that is dearly missed and adds so much immersion. |

Well to be fair I'd much rather have them work on balance and the like before immersion anything else they can slip in while they do that is great. I want the fun stuff just as much as anyoen else but I'm not going to cry about. Planetside 2 has been handled better than some of SOE's prior ventures so I really can't complain.

Did they put malware into the clients or the game was sold in stores with a layer of anthrax? I mean sure, flat out ignoring Planetside 1 was pretty poor, but atleast that game was consistent and worked for what it had to do. On-Topic: Give us a proper Voice menu. Not some sloppy 1-0 crap where you allways slip and insult the guy whos vehicle you wanted to board or having some inconsistent voice commands thrown into a "spot menu" that slides all over the place as soon as the guy you wanted to tell to stop for repairs moves away. I wish to God we had the ability to create our own text macros again. My standard engie emote was 'Hold STILL so I can FIX you, you armor-plated FREAK!' And like as not, I'd get a LOL and the person would... stand still.
How tough would this be?

I really think they should not have made PS2 a "PS 2" or even bothered branding it as PlanetSide. Yet, they had different plans when they started PS2, and then they changed it all, so.. Well, that's how SOE used to do things. Star Wars Galaxies was killed by expansions/patches that completely re-worked the game into something it simply was not meant to be; it turned a more classic RPG skill-system into the cookie-cutter class system that they already had in EverQuest and WoW and... well... SOE has prior killed games with new content. So far they have actually been improving PS2 rather than slowly killing it. Last edited by AThreatToYou; 2013-11-09 at 04:15 AM. |

IDK why the NC one's arn't in but it's probably because the other's can't be put in.
THe VS and the TR voice actors are currently different than the ones on live. It'de be jarring to change to a completely different voice actor for calling out objectives. As for the "capture/defend nodes" one, that should be part of the leadership cert that allows you to designate objectives. I would make it staticy and sound like a radio though and play it to a whole squad. TR VA is pretty popular. He does voices for SMT: Persona 3 (Ahkihiko) and Fallout New Vegas (Several named NCR NPC's namely I forget the others). Last edited by Lucidius; 2013-11-09 at 04:00 PM. |
