Like, what does that mean?

Did you play SWG? I wasnt the Star Wars experience most people see as a Star Wars experience.
It was a crafters delight sandbox.

It sound like SOE is basically making their own version of

My take is they're putting their $25 million investment to use by tapping it into their three big franchises: Everquest, Planetside, and (at a different point in time) SWG. I really do hope it was not just a random decision to pull more developers in more directions.
Sounds interesting. I love adventure type games where one can explore and experience different encounters along the way. I love shooters too but it doesn't take long to get tired of them especially when the market is covered with them and they are all trying to be like each other.

Here's a little something to get y'all thinking...

SOE has apparently trademarked H1Z1, This is the name of a hoax Virus based on H1N1 that apparently turned people into Zombies:

Really another zombie game? This is what we're missing as gamers?

Sometimes I think, if SOE had an original thought/idea/game it would physically hurt them.

A DayZ/Rust-like shoot, build and survival MMO would make sense because they have the perfect engine for it and this particular genre is booming atm.

On the other hand, it would be hard to bring something new to the table in this genre and it doesn't fit the scifi theme he was hinting at in his AMA.

Heh, aye. When companies oversaturate a market it always reminds me of jenga. Just have to make sure that your game isn't the one that turns the market away from the genre
