As for the OP, IIRC the goal of the WDS was not to do any of the things you've listed. The goal is to provide something that a faction can 'win'. Be that WDS on their server, or WDS overall. WDS is a concession towards the newer generation of players who have been indoctrinated into the 'round based mindset'. I only hope it will be over soon, I miss playing. |

I just want the rewards to stop.
Our brain receptors are now programmed to need this shit and we really don't. We didn't used to. WDS and alerts need total banishment when lockable counts come out. Dominating territory should be it's own reward IMO

I really dislike these disruptive to gameplay "gift for doing a task"-elements they're adding to the game like alert and WDS. They just pull people out of battles randomly cause that XP/item you get is more important than having a good experience.
WDS is just terrible cause its offering money gifts, people want free stuff... I miss the times from PS1 when people worked even days to take over a continent, that satisfaction just does not exist in anyway yet, though I suppose it doesn't exist cause there just cannot be real victories over continents until we get more, but adding these seems to be insanely arduous task and just making a repetitive game into a well running repetitive game seems to be the main goal for SOE. But oh well, I suppose nothing can be done until we have some 10 continents in 2017. /vent Last edited by Vashyo; 2014-02-27 at 09:22 AM. |
