My suggestion, jump into the VR area and use that to get the hang of flying without worrying about crashing into your friends. |

As for ANTs going unguarded, yes they do. A lot.
I drove across the roads on Cerysha from the Ishunder gate over towards the Nerrivik Station (I think) and didn't really see much of the enemy, despite going through a LOT of enemy territory. Only times I saw anything was when I stopped at a friendly tower and got shot (but I respawned and got the mofo), when I drove past a hotspot (road went right between an NC tower and a TR base), and when I ran down an unwary NC MAX in the middle of nowhere.

I flew all through exclusive beta and when the accounts were reset I decided to hold off on flying for a while, until I get some cert levels in, so I could be a terror in the air and on the ground.
IMHO, I think flying is the hardest skill to master in PS. Think about it, a flying vehicle is totally exposed to both groundfire and other enemy air vehicles. As a pilot you have to worry about not only (x,y), but also the (z) axis of movement so you dont crater into a mountain, tree, building, or hell even other flying craft. You have to fire from a moving platform to other moving objects. All these things are going through your mind as you line up on your target to get that kill. The only way you can become skillful at flying, is practice, practice, practice. However you asked for some tips, here are a few:
Thats about it. I have some tactics that I use, but Im saving them for myself. Have fun and good hunting, alph

I never could stand trackballs...but that's just me.
But lemme jack this for a moment and present a question: Can one (in a mosquito or reaver) aim downwards and hold e (raise alt)and w, so that one would be aiming down at the ground but maintaining a constant height and speed? And if so, would it be a viable tactic to do so?

Yes. I do this when launching from the pad, cause it *looks* cool!
Impresses the shit outta the ground pounders! hehe alph [EDIT] Missed the last part of you question.. humm.. viable tactic, possibly.. Ive used it against other air targets, firing down on them while maintaining height and speed. However, against ground targets, it would be more of a strafing run and I dont see it really doing too much damage. But try it out and PM me and let me know your results.

I have a specific question... I have been playing PS for over a month and a half now and I have only flown a reaver twice. The problem I have is the controlls are very wobly it seems, if I want to turn a tiny bit in one direction it will swing me wildly. If I want to tilt down I will go down 50 degrees then pop back up 30 degrees.
Is this some setting I have goofy? Such as that "recenter" option, or is that actually how the reaver is? If so.. I have a lot of respect for the few good reaver pilots... |

You might want to adjust your mouse sensitivity. A buddy of mine was having a similar issue, but with using ground vehicles. He lowered his mouse sensitivity and it cleared it all up.
My reaver has never flown like that, but I use a trackball. I dont know what it would do with a regular mouse. Note: the hardest thing I had to learn between the reaver and mosquito is stopping distance. The reaver appears to have a heck of a lot more mass in game and it doesnt stop on a dime like the mosquito does. You can do some really neat tricks in a skito, that is damn hard to do in a reaver. Hope this helps, alph

Hey. I play a heavy assault soldier with my AV Striker. I am to toot my own horn a machine at killing reavers and maxs but I will share with you some very simple but hardly used advise when encountering me.
First - You are coming at a TR soldier head on. I am not sure how much you can see from the reaver but you need to learn what the weapons look like of your opponents. If your opponent has a striker you should run. Forget your TOP GUN movie, I will kill you if we see each other at the same time. You do not have a chance. Second - Your flying or floating or whatever you do and get hit by a missle. Chances are its me. Fly away quick. By the time the first one hits the second one is on the way and the third will be there before you hesitate. It takes 4 strikers to kill a reaver and at a distance I will hit you with 2 before you know whats happening. Do not fly away high, do not try to fight back. Go low and fly toward the nearest hill or tree. I have to keep my cof on your plane for the missle to hit. That means you have a good chance. Fly away and do not come back to my area for awhile because I will be on the lookout for you. Pick your battles. You have to. Reavers are extremely effective enemy, just not when I am around. Remember, fly low and use cover. When you see or get hit by a missle run. Its most likely an AV missle and it will kill you. Jeb |

Yah... i cant understand the reavers that just hoover over a hot spot. I have actually taken a few down with my turrets! Now if you are sitting in one spot long enough for small arms fire to take you out.... you should pick another cert.
