well, it's a little bit stronger. if you were to hold it against a piece of metal, it would theoretically be moving fast enough to cut clean through in a second or two.

Warborn, I was complaining about thw NC's crappy vibrator knife, Infact I dont even play NC. I was just pointing out it should do something more, visible. Like noticable shaking instead of it looking the exact same.

My question is: Why bother to give knives 2 modes, when the second is stronger?

Is there some kind of catastrophic drawback to the more powerful mode that you would EVER use the first?

Solid question. If you notice though in other games (i.e Counter-strike) there are 2 modes. One of which is quicker and causes less damage. Second more powerful but not necessarily as quick. Just the way i rationalized it to myself.

Yeah R3D I think that is completely idiotic, yeah it looks cool having a glowing knife to stab your enemy with buyt where is the tactical advantage? I have heard and I would agree that the NC knife is the best for infil kills, the noise isnt overwhelming and it does not glow.. Say I was sitting there sniping and this glowing knife came running at me, thats not something I would ignore, I would shoot at the glowing knife. On the other end of the spectrum say I was sniping and did not have darklight, an NC infiltrator could very easily slide up behind me and go to work on me before I knew what was happening.
To conclude, Yeah the Vanu blade's glowing ability is cool but useless if it does not get cloaked.

It actually glows visibly while someone is cloaked? If so, that should really be changed =/

It does... some Vanu infiltrator snuck up on me and tried to knife me and when I turned and looked, I saw the knife floating in the air so I shot the crap out of him. Another dead Vanu.
