First off, it sounds like you guys rocked and had a great time. Sweet!
Second, I think what Led is trying to say here is that just because you "sweep" a continent and then "move on" doesn't mean you've necessarily won. He's not crying or whining, he's saying that instead of moving to the next continent that perhaps you should have stuck around to help him and his group defend the one that you took in the first place. The way you made it sound was that you had 5 blue continents all at once when you guys were done for the night. If that's true, then that's amazing and congrats to you! You conquered half the world! But if you are saying that you got a continent, lost one, got another one, lost another one and ended up with say 1 or 2 blue continents, then I think you are misleading the people reading the thread and you should be a bit more specific instead of deceiving (intentionally or not) those that are listening to you. |

She.
And no, they did not hold all those continents. We saw the odd blue continent here and there through the night, but it was always gone when we checked the map a few minutes later. And evilpig, you can take that tissue and cram it right up your ass. |

Very civil reply Big Bro. I saw nothing misleading about pumping our bravado. We certainly conquered faster than anything was retaken. If maps can truly be won, eating up the map faster than the enemy will lead to the end game in our favor. But cool all.

Personally I think this thread is touching on a very critical aspect of the game. I too don't like it when a base is capped, and then a few minutes later it goes neutral or or starts getting hacked again. I think, though that this has a root that lies deeper than saying "HEY - you guys capped the base and didnt stay there for 3 hours to make sure it didnt get re-capped!!@!!"
Let's work together to analyze this situation without pointing fingers. Because I think we all want this game to be great - and we all obviously care about it's future. First off, the game is geared towards offense in certain regards (i.e. you get more EXP for caps than just sitting around or resecuring). Second - there don't seem to always be enough people to cap, hold AND cap all the towers if there is strong resistance. It seems a bit easier to attack than defend from what I have seen. No matter how solid your defense is, an organized squad with equal numbers will probably be able to over run you...If you have greater numbers you are almost sure to be able to cap a tower or base. This is contrary to the history of war BUT it makes for a fast paced game. Usually an attacker sieging a city would need to outnumber the defenders by a huge margin (2:1 ?) to expect victory - and even then it could be a long time in coming. Third - Reinforcements are very easy to come by. This makes the battlefield EXTREMELY fluid. This means that all sides can expect the lines to shift VERY rapidly. Whether by HART or Gal or Sund, the men will come. And more will come. And thus when you think you've secured an area - boom - it lights up again. This i'm sure is not a complete list of all the reasons why it is hard to secure big areas let alone whole continents, and I'm sure people can add to it. I guess I have two points here. One is that this game really doesn't reward the defenders enough if they want people to sit around for hours and defend one base or tower. My second point is that we need to look closely and decide if thats what we want. I know a lot of people like a fast paced game and a lot like a more "defensive" game. Perhaps when the game goes public, and there are many more numbers of people in each server, these things will be answered. |

First off I don believe you. 5 continents in 1 day, and you experienct it all? Barely Impossible. You gota life outside of this world dont you? Skool, work, feeding you pet fish? And your squad equals around 90 people? And I'm guessing they all were on at the same time? heh.
Second, do you expect to have under controll 5 continents at once when noone else in the empire knows that your battling? Once you leave the continent only a few NCs will come becase of the inicationt hat the continent was taken, but 100's of vanu and/or TR will be swarming to the pods and dropping so they can get back the continent. Dont expect a full 3 hours (as how you put it) for one continent to be locked. And also this is a team game. Yes you may have conquered a continent or 2 but you left fellow comrads in different battles and just left once you conquered expecting your empire to swarm the continet and protect it. I think its time to head back to the drawing boards. ohand flame all yo want, its a free country.

LOL--seems you don't get it either Bugger. You guys want to sit in one base for 3 hours and let the enemy consume everything around you. Planetside is a game of offense. We take more than we give. Figure that out, and you'll see your flag flying high too.
We confuse our enemies into getting bogged down in the long battles you want to fight. They sit on the defense you want to play. But in the end, they have far fewer bases left. We are the 666th. We liberate, we move on. I suggest you read some Sun Tzu. "Be like water". "Attack the enemy where he is weak". When the enemy is too strong, we bend. When the enemy is weak, we attack!! "If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him." "If his forces are united, separate them." "Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected." "Therefore the skillful leader subdues the enemy's troops without any fighting; he captures their cities without laying siege to them; he overthrows their kingdom without lengthy operations in the field." "So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak." Move the map. Don't end up hopelessly defending the LAST city for your faction.

Sounds like you moved to fast for you fellow NC. Were they behind you protecting bases? Not criticizing, just wondering.
