Flying a battlehship is essentialy a requirement, you don't have to PVP with it(though sometimes, like station sieges and large scale fleet fights you need them), but it makes your money, tanking, mining, ratting.

Most PVP these day's is HAC and frig squads, but have fun replacing 20 interceptors a week wthout Batteship level cash flow.

(hey some people do lose that many, though I suspect they have BPO's or something)

I thought he meant people actually fly them in battle, my mistake.

I forget sometimes that BS pilots are a dying breed...hell even I am looking at an elite cruiser...and I loved my BSes.

Most major fleet engagements are BS on BS only. By the sheer nature of it it is alliance warfare and its just a... tradition sorta. The best alliance will kill more of the other alliances ships and what not.

Large Scale fights always had battleships as the main combatants, but those don't happen as often as gank squads and frigfleets
