Excellent fight Sunday night just north of NS Materials Storage. 2 SG infantry squads and 1 air squad knocked out a major TR armor column.
AOD on the TR side put up a great fight, but we knew they were coming and had set up on the high ground well in advance. Air superiority also helped a ton. |

I've been in SturmGrenadier for roughly 3 months now, Aldman recruited me after I stumbled upon this thread and asked him to have a little chat on teamspeak. I had a list of things I needed in a gaming community and along with it a bunch of questions I had before I even thought about applying to a place with a wall of text guild charter.
But I never got to ask those questions. One of the other members of SG wound up logging in and being placed into the teamspeak lobby just as me and Aldman were saying Hi. Once he heard I was a potential applicant he just started telling me all about what he loved about SG and what SG was about. It just seemed to fit, everything these two guys were talking about defined what I wanted out of an ideal group. Most importantly, I was looking for a mature community that I could sit down and enjoy after a long day at work. I didn't want to deal with little Timmy yelling at his mom while he held his push-to-talk button in, and I didn't want to deal with a bunch of cliquey nonsense where I would always feel like I was an outsider to an already established group. One slogan I saw over and over again on their recruiting forums was "Welcome to the last guild you'll ever join". After being here for 3 months now I can fully understand the sentiment, and I doubt I will ever voluntarily leave as long as I am still gaming. The guys over at SG have been extremely inviting and friendly, they treat me like I've been with them for more than 3 years, let alone 3 months. The bottom line: If you are a mature gamer who is looking to be a part of something bigger, take a look at SG. If you like the idea of knowing (and liking!) your guild mates beyond their avatar in whatever game you are playing, take a look at SG. If you like to play in a successful organization but enjoy a more casual and fun approach towards gaming, take a look at SG. At worst, you waste a week or two checking us out and decide its not a good fit. It was good meeting you, have fun in your next outfit and we'll see you on the battlefield. At best you make friends both in game and out, and learn to love gaming all over again just like I have. |

fishywishy,
We are on Lysithea (East). We certainly aim to be noob friendly. I say this because we have new members join all the time and they seem to pick things up quickly. For new people we have: Code of Conduct Classes - kind of an orientation to SG. Infantry, Armor, Air classes at all levels A new player guide/faq in our forums...with an active forum for ideas and information. You can also ask in Teamspeak for help and we work with people one-on-one. |
