Yeah it's not just those who bought the game just recently. I bought it 2k3, cc 2k4, subscribed with several 3-months tickets iirc. They're still in the account payment log.
So there has definitely been something wrong with the flagging process. |

I had a priority key on my account. It wasn't until I had everything already finished and registered I realized I should have created a second account to keep them separate >.< (and have an account I could get a friend in with) |

Well it looks like I'm shit out of luck. I was in the PS1 beta and played after launch, but that account is long gone. I re-purchased the game in 2010 and registerred this one for beta, although I only played for the initial 30 days that was included. I haven't been flagged for beta so I contacted Live Chat. Seems what other people are saying is true. Here's the transcript from my exchange. I edited out the names obviously.
TSR Aaron: Just a moment while I review your account. Me: Ok TSR: It doesn't look like your account: ***** is a vet account. Veteran accounts are defined as those who not only purchased the game, but have paid for subscriptions to play. I'm not seeing either on this account. Me: Hm, I definitely purchased the game back in 2010, as well as Core Combat. I'm not sure how long this particular account was subbed for, I had another acct when the game launched but dont have access to the email for it. TSR: Correct, however, this account was never subbed to PS1, so it does not qualify as a veteran account. me: Would I have been given the 45 day PS1 account if it was not considered a veteran account? me: er the 45 day game time TSR: No, that was granted to anyone who had an account and a game registered to it, even if it was a free game. Me: Oh okay I see. Should I just disregard whatever Smedley said about people buying the game recently still having vets status then? TSR: That was basically for players who just purchased the game and subscribed prior to the 6th of August. Me: Ah I gotcha. Well, that clears that up for me. Thanks man, i'm sure you're getting a lot of questions about this today. good luck TSR: Not a problem. Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment and have a great day! That statement about people buying the game and subbing prior to august 6 doesn't really jive with Smed's statements. He made it sound like anybody who bought PS1 within the last few weeks would have had veteran status. Seems like there's some miscommunication going on here. Disappointing to say the least. Well I was able to snag a twitter key yesterday, so at least I have that to look forward to I guess. Hope this helps anybody who was still wondering |
