TR only had 300 per hit, but it was every 1 second, so in the same time a vanguard shot its one 450 damage hit, the tr shot 2 times for a total of 600. This whole thread's fucking ridiculous considering we've no idea how things are going to be balanced in PS2, but I thought I'd comment anyway, as a TR with a grudge.
The problem with the above is that the TR were required to be more accurate, for longer. This was a problem with tank combat, but it was more of an issue with the MCG to be honest, because bloom made accuracy so much more difficult to maintain. The TR ended up with low damage weapons requiring high accuracy, in indoor battles which were dominated by choke points and camping - and once you add the problems caused by hit detection and lag I think this meant they were at a significent disadvantage, especially against the NC.
But frankly, who gives a fuck? We're talking about PS2 now, and we've not even reached beta.
