As someone mentioned I believe most of the development power was behind the new lattice system. This is why Hossin was pushed back, hopefully now things will start to pick up again.

I want to see a 96squarekm cyssor

Water, massive bridges, mountains, mass tank battles on huge plains.

The best bridge battles where almost all at Cyssor. The continent of Cyssor consisted of 10 islands with very long bridges spanning wide waterways. Unlike Planetside 2 conts on Cyssor there are no ways around the bridges. so except for VS hoover vehicles, and Deliverers every other vehicles had to use those bridges. Man that led to some great fights.
Sure would love a Cyssor like continental design on Planetside 2. Maybe even an area with a bridge similar to the TRiboro Bridge in NYC that links 3 boros. I would then love to see a 3 way VS,TR and NC all fighting at that bridge in a night time setting. Wow let the fireworks begin .

A while ago I had suggested that each Planetside2 server include 1 PS1 continent with the same exact geography and topography as the original but better PS2 Graphics. So if Mattherson gets the old Ceryshen then Waterson can have the old Ishundar and Connery yet a different Ps1 cont maybe Solsar. This way each server will be distinct. Thoughts?

i don´t think this is an option.
what happens at the next server merge? a big group of players could lose their favorite cont when the merged server only has one oldstyle cont.

but the idea of having a cont that actually feels as big as a ps1 cont rules.
especially if the bases would be a little more like in ps1. you know, designed like they were build to defend.

I agree that the new continents might come sooner then we think.( I hope) Once the lattice is implemented on the other continents which in my guess will be another 2 months top, these other continets we have been waiting on will start to roll out pretty quickly there after.

Ya. We need more damned continents. That should now be SOE's top priority. We need 10 continents by the end of 2014. That may be a tall order but I think its still a feasible one.

Had I been in charge PS2 wouldn't have launched without at least 5 continents with a basic lattice system so all three factions aren't asses to elbows against each other, that way the NC & VS could have a fight without the TR being in such close proximity that requires them to get involved. Three way battles would still occur just not in such large amounts we have now.

I'd agree but it makes me wonder why SOE decided not to, and remember at one time Smedley said they'd launch with two - and then Amerish was finished.

To me the reasons can only be
- business /commercial, the launch when it did provided an income stream earlier.
- technical, look at the changes they've made to the continents that are there, then imagine the scope of the rework if it had to be done over 5+ continents instead of 3.

All the same, the game would play out differently with a proper global war instead of 3 continental wars. Possibly the event system would never have been necessary.
