Burnt out decayed husks of BFR's littering the landscape, and a proper piece of lore stating they were poorly designed war machines hence have been left to rot

You're thinking of "Doctor Device". The "DR" device where DR stood for... err... (google to the rescue)

Nope. "MD Device". Molecular Disruption.

And no. Using one anywhere near a planet will destroy that planet and everything in orbit. But maybe that's what you're after.

It went by all those names, even in the book. Little Doctor is the fun name for it tho

i like'd how APB did it, but i would settle for just going into my options and being able to click left hand shooter... lol

I'll second the air-cav carrier. Something like a floating aircraft carrier, a la Battlefield 2142.

Identical or nearly so empire weapon selections, with at most very minor variations for flavor. Certainly no major differences in capability.

And MAX units implemented like the starship troopers(book) mobile infantry. Highly mobile outdoors unit, not an indoors tank.

Player controlled and run space ships that are large enough that boarding parties fight on the ship's hulls. Teleporters rather than spawn tubes are the means of getting to the front line.

YES! Boarding actions!!

Also, the difference between respawn tubes and teleporters in PS are pretty moot considering we're destroyed in both if Dr. Sheldon Cooper is correct (which, of course, he is):
