Amphibious sunderer could easily be accomplished with a performance or utility upgrade for the sunderer. Creating a whole new vehicle w/ cert tree and other characteristics is extreme overkill. There must be something more to this vehicle. It must have a purpose other than transport.

My thought exactly. The lightning is the replacement for the skyguard in terms of functionality ... no one has said the lightning has to be a tract vehicle. My only doubt would be this appears to hold more than 1 person.

As we have not seen the lightning yet and the lightning's role was questionable, perhaps they spliced the lightning with the deli to create an IFV. That turns it into a general light attack vehicle that doubles a transport for a few extra infantry.

Although I do agree that the Lightning does not HAVE to have tracks. And the Sundy is way too top heavy and obviously heavily armored for it to be believably amphibious.

Just because it is an implied transport doesn't mean it isn't a lightning. We haven't seen it yet, and it could be an IFV for all we know. Its the one Nanite Systems vehicle we haven't seen and don't have a lot of details on. And here Nanite Systems unveils a vehicle.
One thing I have faith in is that they won't introduce a new vehicle without a purpose, and so far transport vehicles have had multiple roles. I expect this thing is no different. Some sort of supply vehicle or IFV are reasonable possibilities. |

I can certainly see them making a vehicle with various variants. Such as gutting the troop carrying capacity to shoehorn in an advanced AA weapon system (i.e. the Lightning). And I consider the Deli to be a IFV. It has the ability to carry infantry and mounted 2 machine guns to suppress the enemy Infantry. So this could be a troop transport and a the newly rebuilt Lightning, depending on what you need it too be. Course speculation is speculation....but what else can we do?

It is officially NOT the Lighting......but we can still get the pitchforks for the lack of WHAT it is!
And it is not a concept Sundy either

So basically, from what I can see, this vehicle doesn't have any weapon included ?
Mmh, it'd better be fast and well armored. Imo, it looks like a powerful off-road version of the sunderer. Last edited by Hark; 2012-04-09 at 02:26 PM. |
