I can't count how many times we ran the Ixtab LLU to kill everyone sitting inside the downed shield at Voltan.

and since when does Gunuku have 4 towers?

any base was hard to take if the right ppl were holding it.

They removed two towers when they implement the lattice, it was a sad day for the outfit called the defenders of gunuku. They also removed two bridges.

Didn't they put the Cyssor Monolith at the location of one of those towers?

That would be on top of a giant mountain that goes above flight ceiling.

Never really thought of Ixtab as being particularly hard to crack. Attacking from Ghanon to Ixtab gave you that hill to shoot down into the base and there was plenty of cover for low level bombing raids all around the base. The trees around it's outside also blocked infantry on the walls from having clear shots out. Attacking from Acan was a pain and Bitol was something I never really had to do as the only way VS would come from that angle would be the geowarp.

The bases that did stand out as hard nuts? Excuse me while I pull out my fiddle.
Ooooooooooooooooooh!
Azeban, Mekala, Cetan, Tumas, Qumu, Sedna, Anguta, Keelut, Igaluk, Andvari, Dagur, Vidar, Freyr, Eisa, Helheim, Dagda, Gwydion, Pwyll, Bel, Ogma, Anu, Eadon, Caer, Naum, Voltan, Hurakan, Ghanon, Kisin, Chac!

And now for the Cyssor verse! Join in if you know the words!
Wele, Aja, Bomazi, Nzame, Mukuru, Leza, Tore, Itan, Gunuku, Faro, Chuku, and Ekerrrrrraaaaaaaa!

*Breathes in*

Baal, Dagon, Hanish, Girru, Irkalla, Kusag, Neti, Marduk, Enkidu, Akkan! Hvar, Atar, Dahaka, Rashnu! Wakea, Tara, Rehua, Drakulu, Sina, Iva, Laka, Karihi, Akua, Oro, Nnnnngaruuuuu! Seth, Hapi, Sobek, Thoth, Horus! Zal, Sraosha, Rashnu! Jamshid, Izha! Yazata, Hvar! And little Ataaaaaaaaar!

To be fair I've probably had multi-hour fights over every base in the game but if I had to narrow it beyond the given list I'd probably say "Every damned Interlink". Hated interfarms, boring go nowhere fights where people just waited for someone to be stupid enough to push. Dropships are technically worse from an infantry point of view due to their longer back door and the lack of the Interlink's quick way down to the gen via the door in the back of the lobby. But they were rare, their CYs were harder to hold, and the geography around them tended to be more forgiving.

Granted, in all honesty I have to add that most players were too dumb to devise any coherent strategy, particularly if they contained amphibious assaults, which was a rather foreign concept to most outfits other than ours.

"What, a drop with Sunderers/Deliverers on the BD? Why not just use a Galaxy?"

Most people couldn't imagine an answer to simple questions like the latter.
Yeah, I actually wonder if an LLU Carrier can ride in a vehicle that is then carried in a Loadstar, but it'd be rather difficult to test...

LLUs can't fly. They can traverse water by flight, but can't drop INto the water.

LLUs reduce vehicle top speed by 40%.
LLUs cannot be carried by a driver or pilot.
LLUs cannot be carried by a MAX.
LLUs cannot be in any aircraft nor in a vehicle in an aircraft.
LLUs cannot be carried while cloaked.
LLUs cannot be hidden.
LLUs cannot be picked up in lava (don't ask how I learned about that one...).
LLUs cannot be directly blocked by an enemy vehicle else the vehicle despawns.
LLUs don't affect infantry negatively (cloaking excluded).
