looks like a frigin Bear Keg. But yeh uhh it sticks out to much, try and make it look more part of the gun.

How about removing the barrel magazine on the bottom, then putting all the ammo in a backpack? Then have the chain of bullets being pulled out from the side of the pack and feeding into the side of the MCG? I believe one of the commandos in "Predator" carried a similar setup. It might not be realistic, but realism isn't what's at issue here. Besides, I think it would look pretty badass...
